However, The famous sweet of Bengal, Rasgullas or popularly pronounced as Rosogolla was invented by Nabin Chandra Das in 1868. However, KC Das has marketed Rasgullas so well that people think it was invented by KC Das.

Nalin Chandra Das & Sons is the oldest sweet shop in Kolkata. This famous shop is here since 1841. You won’t find a dull moment here, at this famous sweet shop.
The 5th generation is currently running this place. You will be able to travel back in time with their wide variety of sweets. Also, You will find modern sweets too! Like Chocolate Sandesh, Mango flavoured sweets etc.

2. Ganguram & Sons, Maniktala, Kolkata
Ganguram & Sons is one of the oldest sweet shops in Kolkata. Operational since 1885, in the heart of Kolkata. They have a wide variety of sweets, ranging from traditional sweets to modern ones.
Ganguram’s has multiple outlets all around Kolkata. Their journey started back in the 1880s, a tiny Sweetmeat Shop of Late Ganguram Chaurasia existed on a small piece of land owned by Raja Kamala Prasad Mukherjee.

3. K C Das, Esplanade, Kolkata
KC Das is synonymous with rasgullas or as we call it Roshogulla. It is one of the most famous and the oldest sweet shops in Kolkata. They have marketed rasgullas so well that it is a must-try when you visit them!
He carried forward the legacy of Nobin das – Who invented the Roshogulla. KC Das was the first one to sell rasgullas in cans. The first canned rasgulla was sold by this famous sweet shop, making it widely available.

4. Girish Chandra Dey & Nakur Chandra Nandy, Hedua, Kolkata
Founded in 1844, This famous sweet shop has no other branch than this one, located near Hedua park, Kolkata. Girish Chandra dey & Nakur Chandra Nandy’s shop is famous for its wide range of Sandesh.
They are the experts when it comes to Sandesh, The most famous Bengali sweet after Rasgulla.

5. Jugal’s, Park Circus, Kolkata

Putiram is one of the oldest sweet shops in Kolkata, situated in the heart of Calcutta, began its operation back in 1852. It is famous for its famous Hing-er kochuri & Moong-dal kochuri.
Apart from these snacks, Putiram is also famous for stuffed Gulab Jamuns & Roshogolla.

7. Bhim Chandra Nag, Bowbazar, Kolkata
Bhim Chandra Nag started his sweet shop back in 1826 in Bowbazar, Kolkata. It is one of the most famous and oldest sweet shops in Kolkata.
This sweet shop was the inventor of Ledikeni, a famous sweet named after the wife of Lord Canning, Bhim Chandra made this specially when she visited this place.

8. Amrit, Shyambazar, Kolkata

They make kilos of Mishti Doi but it gets sold out within hours of opening this famous sweet shop!
